Update 58

Major changes were taking place in the Tudor kingdom. Heart broken and bitter about losing Marcelo, Xena went on a spending spree, ending with the purchase of a new palace.

Gale was not happy with the changes. He missed his family home and Marcelo and Nike. He could not visit them as easily now. He had some clue as to why they moved, and was growing to not trust his mother.

Xena still kept busy with her duties, leaving the care of Gale to others. One day the Council was invited over to a big house in Oasis Springs.

"This house is practically a palace. Who's house is it?" Xena asked.

"The Sehar family." Diana answered.

"Oh, they are the most prominate family here. But I've never made their aquaintance." Xena took a seat.

Mr. Sehar welcomed the Council and everyone engaged in small talk. Finally Xena spoke up and asked why they had been called here.

"Yes, well, Xena, while Oasis Springs is part of the Tudor Kingdom, it's citizens have felt overlooked for quite some time in regards to the kingdom. They wish to become a separate kingdom, and have decided to back the union of my family with the Welsh family."

"What!?" Xena gasped, "But, how, and...the Welsh family? As in Mae Welsh, my father's mistress?!!"

"Yes. Her oldest son and my oldest daughter are to be married and they shall become the rulers of the new Sehar Kingdom. Before you go on the defensive and prepare to fight to keep us part of the Tudor kingdom, you should know something. Not only do we have the support of the citizens, but also the Council."

Xena was shocked, "You too Diana?"

Diana nodded. The Council all made note of their agreement.

Xena returned home in a daze. She walked straight to her room and stayed there for many hours. While she was in there, Gale had his birthday celebration. It was very small scale, but a few friends did come over.

Now that he was a teen, Gale began to look into many areas of study. He was especially curious of the well at the back of the lot that he often caught Xena staring at through the window.

Xena knew Gale was a bright boy and knew she had a small window of time to exert her power over him. So she picked herself up from the shock of losing half her kingdom and turned her focus to the future. In particular, his arranged marriage.

"Gale, the Fujioka's are here! Come on!" Xena called. She had set up a formal meeting between her old friend with his daughter and her with Gale.

"This is Chi Fujioka. Her father and I have arranged for you two to marry." Xena explained.

Gale and Chi had known each other as kids, but there was no attraction between them. They were friendly throughout the meeting and gave there parents the impression that it would work between them.

However, Gale was one to think for himself, as were his fellow heirs.

While the parents thought they knew it all, the next generation had their own plans in store.
