Update 47

While the party continued on, Harmony gave birth to Princess Nike. Another daughter.

"If I were back at home this would be wonderful." Harmony thought to herself. Finally getting away from the party, Urban came to see his new child. He was clearly not pleased, so Harmony suggested they go into the hallway.

"Urban, I don't know what you want from me. It's not like I planned this."

"It's one thing to say that, but what if we never have a son." Urban replied.

"Then you'll just have to name your daughters as heirs."

"What!? No. It's never been done, it's not even an alternative. I will have a son. I will have an heir." Urban stormed off.

That night after the party, Urban hung out with Mae.

"I mean really, I might never have a son." Urban worried.

"You could always name an illegitimate son." Mae suggested.

"I don't have any."

"None? It's not against the rules for a king to have a mistress."

"I never thought of that. My father never did. I certainly wouldn't want just, any mistress." Urban took Mae's hand. They spent the rest of the night out.

When Urban returned in the morning he met with a very unhappy Harmony.

"Urban. You are free to go and do as you please, but I'd like it if you'd not spend the whole night out."

"Sorry Harmony, it's not a big deal."

"Yes it is. Do you know where your daughter was last night? No? Because you weren't here."

Xena had gone out with her friends and cousin to a night club. She too stayed out most of the night.

"I see." Urban said when Harmony told him, "I'll be sure to be home at night then."

Having promised to be home at night, Urban visited Mae during the day. They spent their time at her loft.

"I'm not sure what to do with Xena. She's been hanging out a lot in the evenings."

"Maybe all she needs is a little sense of responsibility. She's at that age, as your oldest, I'm sure she's thinking about the future."

"Xena, I've been thinking, and as my oldest daughter, I want to make sure you have a good future."

"Yeah dad?"

"I've reached out to the Whitfields about an arranged marriage between you and Hans."

"Hans Whitfield? That's your big idea dad? Yeah, no."

"Just give it a try. Nothing's set, it's still up to you. You might like Hans."

So Urban, Harmony and Xena went to the Whitefield house. They met and talked, but Xena was not impressed.

"Well that went over well. Maybe next time talk things over with me first, before you set up our daughter." Harmony confronted Urban the next day, "Of course if you just named her heir..."

"Harmony, I'm not going into this again. I already..." Urban was interrupted by Harley.

"Whoa there you two. Maybe, all the girl needs is a little vacation. All your girls work hard in school, I'm sure they could use a break. You two could use some time off as well. I know! How about a camping trip!?" Harley exclaimed.

"Sorry I cannot go with you girls, but that's just how it is as king." Urban hugged his family.

"That's okay daddy." Iris said, "It will just be a girls trip then. No boys allowed."

So Urban saw off his family. Maybe some time in nature would do them all some good.

Update 46

Harmony decided to put her worries about an heir behind her, and stop stuffing her face with sweets. She felt she needed a makeover. If she never had an heir, she wanted to at least look great as queen.

"You look awesome Harmony." Urban said as he kissed her. They soon found their way to the closet.

A few days later, Harmony took a pregnancy test. But she was not pregnant.

"Come here honey. It'll be okay, we'll try again." Urban snuggles Harmony.

"I know. I was just hoping it would be sooner rather than later."

"Me too, but we can't rush things."

Later that week, little Iris aged up into a child. While she wasn't the heir Urban desired, he loved her just as much as he loved Xena. Iris and Xena got along just fine now that they were both children, and both daddy's girls.

Meanwhile, Urban kept busy with the Council. However, tensions were growing between kingdoms. The amazons were hoping to expand their claim and Etta Shallot was hoping to make Windenburg the dominate reigning country.

"You better hope you have an heir eventually Urban, or else Windenburg will be their to take over." Etta smirked.

"I don't know how that would happen. The people wouldn't take any merger of our kingdoms without a marriage. You have no sons." Urban replied.

"Yes, but at least my daughters are my heirs."

"Urban." Harmony sat him down on evening, "I know things with the council have been pretty tiring for you, but I've got some great news. We're pregnant!"

"That's great news, just what I needed to hear today. Boy, I don't know how my father handled that Council."

"Maybe take some time off and ask him. I visited him and Blake today to tell them the big news. They're getting pretty old, but that just means they've got great advice." Harmony smiled.

Urban hoped the next child would be his heir. Meanwhile, Harmony decided to focus on her daughters. She made sure they were educated in both the Tudor kingdom and her tribe.

"Field trip girls! Today we're visiting my home. The Forrest Tribe."

"Fine daughters you've had Harmony." Creator Victoria said, "You are all welcomed anytime."

"Mom, can I be creator when I grow up?" Xena asked. The room chuckled at this, although Xena didn't get what was so funny. Harmony explained that being Creator was a tribe thing, but maybe she could be queen.

Finally it was Xena's birthday. Urban through a big party. Harley baked a nice cake. Xena aged up into a teen. Urban gave her a necklace.

"For you Xena. I had it specially made."

"Thanks dad."

"I want one too!" Iris begged.

"Okay, on your net birthday." Urban promised.

Everything was going well. The food was great, the cake was sliced and Harmony went into labor!

(Xena)

Update 45

Using his influence, Urban convinced the Council to let Harley's sister, Mae, join. She would be a financial advisor.

"As your advisor, I must say, it would be in the interest of any of the Council members to stay closely connected to the Whitfield family. They are very wealthy, which would be good for any kingdom. Plus, Clint has a son." Mae told Urban.

"Yes, I have been meeting with Clint. His son, Hans, is a little older than my Xena."

"I hear Etta Shallot is looking at a possible engagement between his son and her eldest daughter."

"Oh. Well, that happens when you have a daughter as heir; arranged marriages are common. I'm not worried, my son will be my heir."

One evening when Urban returned home, he and Harmony decided to watch some TV.

"Urban. Guess what."

"What?"

"I'm pregnant!"

"Great! Maybe we will soon have an heir."

Harmony smiled and shrugged.

"So Xena, excited for your new little brother or sister?" Harley asked.

"I guess. So long as daddy still plays llama with me. And watches tv with me, and take selfies. I hope it is a boy. Then I'll be daddy's only princess."

The whole kingdom was anxiously waiting. Harmony spent her time eating her favorite sweets that Harley baked. Amos visited to encourage Urban. Almond also visited to encourage her sister.

"I know Urban's hoping for a boy, but if the Creator's got anything to do with it, I'd bet you'll have many daughters." Almond smiled.

"We can only wait and see. While I'll love all my kids, I don't think Urban could handle all daughters." Harmony joked.

Finally the day came. Sticking with both their traditions, Urban and Harmony decided on another home birth. After a short while, Princess Iris was born.

"Urban, you haven't said anything." Harmony said after a while. Urban didn't respond, and Harmony didn't push it.

Xena was a little disappointed she didn't have a brother. She started to act out at school. One day, her and another boy decided to skip school and hangout. She secretly hoped this would get her parents attention. After Iris was born, she felt they both were to preoccupied.

Both Harmony and Urban were preoccupied thinking about the future.

"It's only your second child Urban. You have time to have an heir." Mae said.

"I know, but still."

Urban was still worried, so he even visited his mother at the moestary.

"Urban, give it time, you will have a son." Tricia tried to reassure her son.

Harmony was worried as well. She comforted herself with yummy treats and visiting with Blake and Almond.

"To bad you aren't back home Harmony. You'd be praise for your daughters." Almond smiled.

"But what if I never have daughters. Urban said he wouldn't leave me because of them, but if we never have an heir, he will be forced to."

"If you two never have a son, then maybe Urban will just have to let the kingdom go to your daughters, hmm?" Blake suggested, "Of course, it's not tradition."

Still wondering and worrying, Urban and Harmony decided to try again for an heir.
