Update 44

Harley was kept busy once the baby was born. She had plenty of help from Harmony, but there was still a lot to do. In the midst of all her chores, Harley got an unexpected visit. Her sister, Mae, stopped in.

"Harley, Darling, how have you been?"

"Ya know, the usual. Keepin' busy."

"Yes. Well, it is sad to say that this job is better than when you ran off with that joker a few years ago. You could do so much more though."

"Why sister, ya an absolute tease! But I love ya. Smile! Hehehe."

Harley wasn't the only one connecting with her sister. Almond often invited Harmony out, so the two got very close.

"What do you think mom would think of us visiting these places?" Almond asked.

"I think she would have come around. You know, she finally told me about her and Ash."

"Really? Me too. I'm sure she'd be proud of you and you're daughter."

Urban also visited with his family.

"Yep, Xena's a healthy baby. I'm sure I will have many healthy heirs in the near future." Urban bragged.

"I hope so Urban. Daughters can be a joy too. I know mine was. Boy did I spoil her!" Amos chuckled, "Here's to many heirs!"

Finally Xena aged up. Just as Amos said, she was quite spoiled. All of the household loved Xena. Both Harmony and Harley spent time with her outdoors playing and Urban spent time with her indoors. Urban even took her around the kingdom.

"Xena, I'm going to visit the Galactic Embassy to see your Uncle Chase. You have a new cousin!"

"Cool! Can I come?"

"Sure."

So the two went to greet Chase's new baby.

Later that evening, Urban held a gathering of the Council at the Tudor house. Harmony greeted the members at the door. As a rule, spouses were not allowed to join the Council, so she did not know them very well. Urban didn't want to keep her in the dark though, so he hoped hosting a gathering would help with that.

Harley's sister was also present.

"It's good to meet you Mae, Harley's told us a lot about you. We hear you are in business, correct?"

"Yes. I've done quite well in it, if I do say so myself."

"Interesting." Urban replied, "The council has recently added a business representative. A Mr. Whitfield, from a very wealthy family. He has been a great addition."

"So I've heard. I myself was hoping to join as a business representative. Think you could pull some strings?"

"I'll see what I can do." Urban said.

The night went on and on, and Harmony was getting bored with all the political talk.

"Urban, can we slip away for a moment. It's getting late, and I think I'm going to go to bed. But I want to say goodnight first."

"Okay." Urban stood up, "Pardon me members, it is late and the Queen would like to go to bed. I'll return in a moment."

Urban and Harmony ducked into the closet for a moment before Harmony went to bed.

While everything was normal in the Tudor house, the Council was growing.

Update 42

So Urban and Harmony were officially crowned. The Tudor house was pretty empty now with just the two of them. But it would stay that way long.

"Urban, with all the changes and going ons, we haven't had a chance to talk. I'm pregnant!"

"Really? That's great news! That makes my news just in time then. I'd like you to meet Harley Walsh. She will be our housekeeper."

"Hey. Nice to meet cha!" Harley beamed.

"Umm. A housekeeper? Harley, how old are you?" Harmony questioned.

"Well, I don't like to think of age in numbers, you know! Teeheehee. You're as old as you feel and I feel fine!"

"Riiiiight." Harmony replied.

Harley proved to indeed be a capable housekeep. She was taking classes for cooking and handiness, and was doing quite well. However, Harmony was not taking to her right away.

"I just don't see why we need a housekeeper. Certainly we can just hire a maid or repairman when needed. Plus, I'll be home to take care of the kids." Harmony stated.

"It's tradition Harmony. We cannot just hire any average service person, so that's were a well chosen house keep comes in." Urban explained.

Harmony was still unsure if this was necessary, but understood it was tradition.

Leaving the ladies of the house to get aquianted, Urban was often out with the Council of Leaders. Since he took the thrown, he took Amos' place in the Council.

The Original Council

Meanwhile, Harley tried making friends with her new employer, but Harmony was not so into it. So Harmony spent a lot of time visiting her tribe.

"Congrats Aunt. I hope you have many daughters."

"Yes, I heard in the Council meeting from Urban. Congratulations. And may you have many heirs." Creator Victoria said.

"Thank you both." Harmony replied.

Back at the Tudor home, things were getting into a nice routine. Harley kept up with both her chores and her studies. Meals were always on the table. Urban was usually busy with kingdom affairs and the Council. So Harmony had nothing but down time on her hands as they all waited for the baby to be born.

"You know Urban, it's taking me some time to get used to this life."

"Huh? How so?"

"Well, I'm getting used to the housekeeper. I did grow up with Nate, who was the tribe slave. But we amazons still did hard work. Plus, I was your parents' housekeeper, so I've gotten used to doing this stuff myself."

"Oh. I see. But I really want you to relax. Especially now that you're pregnant. Just like your tribe had traditions, our kingdom does too. But I will tell you, I have agreed to keep the one change my father made, to stay with my wife so long as we love each other."

Harmony was reassured by this, and turned her focus on the coming of her first child.

Update 43

Update on the Shallot household. The twins have aged up, and Etta is already preparing them to be rulers. Even Aunrae spends time with them.

Meanwhile at the Tudor house, Harley tried her best to befriend Harmony. It was becoming easier as the pregnancy went on, and Harmony was feeling a little down about her looks.

"All ya need is ta try some clothes on. Always cheers me up."

"Like this?" Harmony asked as she tried on some things, "Maybe this outfit should have stayed at the back of the closet."

"Naw Miss, ya look great! Hehe."

"I agree." Urban said as he walked in, "You look good Harmony."

Feeling better, Harmony agreed to spend more time with Harley.

"I gotta go to my class, you wanna come? We can eat afterwards in the cafe. Hehe."

"Sure Harley." Harmony agreed and they went to the university. While Harley was in her culinary class, Harmony explored the campus. She found herself in the art department. he liked it so much, she even got Urban to stop by and get their picture taken.

Finally, the day came! Harmony went into labor. Much like his father, Urban was a ball of nerves. Not too long and the kingdom welcomed Princess Xena.

"Ain't she just a doll! Teehee. Just a doll!" Harley cuddled the baby.

Harmony invited her tribes Creator, Victoria, to see the baby as well.

When they finally had some time alone, Harmony and Urban spent time with little Xena.

"Oh, won't she be a great heir?" Harmony gushed.

"Hahahaha! Harmony, only our sons will be heirs. That's tradition. No one's changed that."

Harmony was shocked by Urban's initial response, so she brought the topic up again later.

"Just why can Xena not be heir? Back home girls are always leaders."

"It's just not how it's done."

Hoping to avoid any more discussion, or an argument, Urban buried himself in his Council duties.

"Congrats on the new baby Urban." Etta said.

"Thank you."

"To bad it's not a son, an heir. Maybe next time." Etta smugged.

Urban ignored this poke. He didn't trust Etta much since she took her thrown. He didn't doubt her royal status, but figured she had bigger ambitions. He was glad to be in the Council to keep an eye on things and continue expanding the kingdom. He worked hard to uphold the Tudor Kingdom and make past generations proud.

With Urban working so hard, he doesn't have much time to relax. Maybe he will once he has his heir.
